Newcastle Community Hall | Carly & Bobby | Love Photos | Clarington Wedding Photographer

I didn’t know much about Newcastle until my daughter was born. All I knew is that it was somewhere along the 401, with an exit that I passed every time I went out East. Fast forward to August 2017, my daughter turns 4 months old and is enrolled in swimming, Ronak meets new friends who all live in the East part of Durham Region. These new friends tell us about the Diane Hamre Recreation Centre in Newcastle and how we have to go there. It turns out that the indoor swimming pool is probably the best (family friendly) and by far the warmest pool in the Durham/Clarington Region. After that we started discovering Newcastle, a quaint and quiet little town that few talk about.

Fast forward a few more months later I get an e-mail from Carly and Bobby, it turn out they were planning their wedding at the old Newcastle Town Hall (Newcastle Community Hall)

Since then I’ve been a big fan of the little town off of the 401. First of all the venue is just way cool, think heritage building, exposed brick and stone and a large open space, a courtyard and a grassy open area with a gazebo, how awesome is that??

Having grown up in South Unionville (erm… Markham…) what the main strip on Highway 2 in Newcastle really reminds me of is, Main St. Unionville or Main St. Markham, or Kleinburg or Streetsville, all without the vehicle and pedestrian traffic. We scheduled the photos right after the ceremony, on a Saturday afternoon, and the main street was LITERALLY EMPTY, with only a few odd cars driving by, something that is unheard of in the many historic districts of the larger towns and cities.

As far as the wedding itself, it was absolutely brilliant, it was coordinated by the talented Christine Smith of XO Events and everything was just on point. Carly and Bobby were absolutely fantastic and just made it too easy to capture real and genuine moments.

I’m so happy to have met them and found this little gem of a town.

Carly & Bobby: May we bump into each other at Costco in the future again :)
