Even though I’m a Durham Region based wedding photographer I shoot many of my weddings outside of the region and all over the Golden Horseshoe. I love rural weddings and settings but I’m also a sucker for the urban scene. When Mikaela & Jake suggested to Leslieville as the starting location for their engagement shoot I was automatically hooked.
We started at the heart of Leslieville on a warm Fall afternoon. The late afternoon sun was just starting to set and was creating beautiful colour casts along Queen st.
After a bit of a stroll in Leslieville we proceeded to Ashbridge’s Bay and Woodbine beach. Ashbridge’s bay provides a variety of scenery and absolutely gorgeous views of the Toronto city skyline, particularly at sunset.
Throughout the engagement hour shoot, Mikaela and Jake constantly had smiles on their faces and were as comfortable as can be given the rapidly dropping temperatures and cool evening breeze coming off of the lake. Their smiling and laughter was so contagious that my own cheeks were hurting after our 2 hour shoot. I had an absolutely blast and can’t wait for their Distillery District Wedding this coming summer.
